Trev plays a 12 year old boy who is trying to cope with his mother's death two years after it occured. After talking to counselors, his uncle, and eventually Maddie, an eccentric old woman who feels almost like a mother to James, he still hasn't spoken to the one person he needs to about his mother's death: His father.
Maddie eventually forces James to talk about how his mother died after she sees him freeze on the bridge where the car accident that took her life occured. After facing his fear of the bridge James finally tells his father (or rather screams at him) why he is still suffering so much over his mother.
